INSCRIPTIONES is a collection of handcrafted brass rings bearing struck Roman inscriptions: Carpe Diem, Dum Spiro, Virtus, Sine Metu, Libertas, Aeternum, Fatum, Ave. The inspiration comes from authentic ancient inscriptions – short words that in antiquity were struck into metal and stone to carry meaning for a lifetime. Each ring is made without machines, letter by letter, and the available surfaces — museum surface and excavated surface — emphasize either the curated museum character or the raw, unearthed quality of the object. As a result, every piece is a unique artifact marked by the visible trace of handwork.
