Venus Antiqua: Willendorf in earring form is a sculptural interpretation of a Paleolithic female figurine, translated into a lightweight, wearable pair.
The original Venus of Willendorf, dated to approximately 25,000 BCE, belongs to the earliest known representations of the human body. Its form, stripped of narrative detail, is focused on presence, mass, and silhouette.
In this version, the object is duplicated and suspended, becoming two small sculptural forms worn in motion.
These are not replicas of an archaeological artifact, but original objects inspired by the figure’s geometry, rhythm, and primal character.
The form retains the visual austerity of archaeological material while being reduced in weight, allowing the earrings to remain comfortable for everyday wear.
Materials & Craftsmanship
The sculptural forms are made from polymer clay and mounted on hypoallergenic surgical steel hooks.
The materials are chosen to preserve the appearance of a stone object while ensuring lightness and durability.
